Book Review – Wacko Academy

“Wacko Academy” book review by: Isabella S.
“Wacko Academy,” by Faith Wilkins, is a story about how a normal 8th grade girl, named Lily, who gets kidnapped by mysterious people. She is sent to a school (Wackerson Academy) against her will. This high-class boarding school isn’t all that ordinary. A secret is kept from every student attending the school and there’s no escape. As Lily is trapped at this weird, unusual school, she must find out what Wackerson Academy truly is, and how she can escape.
My Opinion:
This book is probably one of the most entertaining and greatest books I’ve read. This short book of only 189 pages, had me laughing, gasping, and even crying. It had me glued from the first page. I was able to finish this book in one night with no hesitation whatsoever.
It might not sound much, but when I read books, I tend to extend the book and not want to read. This was the total opposite for me. It was intense and very daring and I didn’t want the book to end. It was very realistic and I felt almost a part of it. I am one of those people that don’t include reading as one of their hobbies, but this was very enjoyable for me. There were very descriptive and realistic funny moments, suspicious moments, scary moments, sweet moments, and sad moments. It is definitely a book filled with many different emotions and feelings, which makes the book so much more interesting.
What I also admire is how Faith was able to spread out different clues throughout the book. It was very smart to do that, because you don’t fully understand what’s happening until the end, so it makes you want to read more and more. Books like that, in my opinion, make amazing stories because it keeps you on your toes. Stories that do not involve this tend to be predictable, lag on, and bore the reader and makes them not want to read it.
The book was also well-organized. Not once was I lost or confused. It was perfectly thought out. A book isn’t good unless you can actually understand what is taking place. The fact that this book already has perfect things about it and that it’s very organized and thought out is amazing.
I can already tell just by this one book how talented Faith Wilkins is. She is such a young writer, yet so amazing with words and she should never ever stop writing books. I will definitely keep reading, and encourage others to read her books and stories. And I will definitely keep up with the “Wacko Academy” series as well.
This book is for sure must-read, and I think people of all ages will enjoy this book. On a scale of 1-10, I rate this as a 10, and five stars in a five star range. Never hesitate to read this book or anything else written by the talented and amazing Faith Wilkins.
